Captains provide additional information for account management and payouts:

  • Contact Information: Email address for dashboard access and communications
  • Public Profile: Handle, bio, social media links (publicly visible)
  • Payment Details: Stripe account, PayPal email, or IBAN (securely stored)
  • Earnings Data: Commission calculations and payout history

Public vs. Private Data:

  • Public: Handle, bio, social links, total hearts generated, leaderboard position
  • Private: Email, exact earnings, payment details, analytics

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Payment Processors: Stripe, PayPal (for transaction processing)
  • Analytics Services: Google Analytics (anonymized data)
  • Hosting Providers: Netlify, Supabase (for platform operation)

  • Captain Accounts: Duration of active membership + 1 year
  • Analytics Data: 26 months (Google Analytics default)
  • Inactive Accounts: Deleted after 2 years of inactivity

Our platform may contain links to external websites (e.g., captain social media profiles). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites. Please review their privacy policies.

11. Children's Privacy

TapTheMap is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we become aware of data collected from children, we will delete it promptly.
